YOUNGSVILLE, La. – The UAB beach volleyball team defeated Missouri State, 3-1, at the Conference USA Tournament on Friday morning.
The win moves the Blazers into the semifinals for the second time in program history and the first time since 2023. UAB, the No. 2 seed, will now face No. 5 seed Tulane, who upset No. 1 seed Florida Atlantic. The semifinal match will take place at 2:30 pm.
The match was clinched on Court 1 by Jasmine Haas and Olivia Stant. The pair dropped the first set to Missouri State's Rylie Cepicky and Allyson Larkin, 25-23, but rebounded to take the second set, 21-19, to force a deciding third set. In the final set, Haas and Stant jumped out to an early lead before winning, 15-6. It marks the pair's 28th win of the season and their 15th in a row.
UAB also earned victories on Courts 3 and 4. Ava Grace Knott and Olivia Chychrun secured their 26th win of the season with a straight-set victory over Maddie Schrandt and Manuela Niemeyer. Claudia Stockard and Isabel Day extended their winning streak to 10 matches with a straight-set win over Raylee Stenzel and Taylor Germann.
The Blazers improve to 26-9 overall and extend their school-record winning streak to 16 matches.
