BIRMINGHAM – UAB Baseball wraps up the 2026 home schedule on Tuesday as the Blazers play host to the Troy Trojans at Young Memorial Field. The 58th meeting between the two schools is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE TROJANS
Troy comes into the matchup 26-26 with an 11-14 record in non-conference games. However, the Trojans boast wins over Georgia and Alabama in the non-conference slate. Troy is hitting .280 as a team with 108 doubles which ranks second in the SBC. Jimmy Janicki sits in ninth in the Sun Belt with a .353 batting average. He also ranks first in home runs (16), second in doubles (21) and fourth in hits (73). Tuesday's probable starting pitcher, Drew Nelson, was recently named one of 15 semifinalists for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award, given to the top two-way player in D1 Baseball. Troy's pitching staff ranks third in the Sun Belt with 458 strikeouts. The staff has also surrendered 61 home runs, which rivals the 55 home runs the Blazers have hit at home this season.
THINGS TO KNOW
- The Green and Gold picked up their 20th home win of the season on Saturday against Charlotte. This is the first time UAB has won 20 home games since the 2014 season.
- With a win, the Blazers will have won 30 games for the second time in the last decade. The lone season in the span with 30 wins was in 2022, Casey Dunn's first year leading the program.
- UAB is the lone team in the American Conference with seven hitters registering 50+ hits this season.
- This season at home, the Blazers are hitting .309 as a team with a .957 OPS and 50 stolen bases.
- Tomorrow's probable starting pitcher Konner Keplinger is second on the team with 21 appearances with his lone start on February 24 against Alabama State. In his last seven appearances, Keplinger has a 1.12 ERA, allowing just one earned run in 8.0 innings pitched, and surrendering a .172 opponent batting average.
- Brooks House has not allowed a run in his last 8.1 innings of work (six appearances).
- Brady Waugh has taken advantage of the friendly confines of YMF the most season, leading the team with a .339 average and being tied for the team lead with 39 hits.
- Kevin Hall Jr. (.325 average) and Alex Dupuy (33 hits) lead the team in their respective categories in non-conference action in 2026.
- John Paul Head is the active leader with a 15-game on-base streak and recording at least one hit in each of the last 11 games.
