UAB Announces 2026 Broadcast Team and Radio Schedule

Fans can once again hear every UAB football game on WJOX-FM 94.5Β in Birmingham. Pregame coverage begins one hour prior to kickoff, with every game broadcast throughout the season. David Crane returns for his 20th season as the play-by-play Voice of the Blazers. Former UAB standout Bryant Turner is back for his fifth season as the network's color analyst, while Landrum Roberts returns for his seventh season on the broadcast team. Jon Gentile enters his 29th season as the network's broadcast engineer.
BlazerΒ SportslineΒ Moving to Tuesdays
In addition toΒ gamedayΒ broadcasts, fans can hear from UAB Head Coach Alex Mortensen each week during BlazerΒ Sportsline, the official radio show of UAB Football. New for the 2026 season, Blazer Sportsline will move to Tuesday evenings after airing on Mondays for several years.Β The weekly show will air every Tuesday from 6-7 p.m. CTΒ on 100.5 FM JOX2Β from Buffalo Wild Wings, located just blocks from the UAB campus.Hosted by David Crane, BlazerΒ SportslineΒ features Mortensen as he recaps the previous game, previews the upcomingΒ matchupΒ and discusses the latest news surrounding the Blazers. Select UAB student-athletes will also appear throughout the season. Fans are invited to attend the live broadcast each week.
Fans will also have the opportunity to meet the Blazers' Buffalo Wild Wings Ambassadors at each weekly show. Redshirt junior tight end Antonio Ferguson (Apopka, Fla.), redshirt senior linebackerΒ Muaaz Byard (York, Pa.) and redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Amos Talalele (Santa Clara, Calif.) will be on hand each Tuesday to sign autographs and interact with fans before and during the broadcast. The first edition of BlazerΒ SportslineΒ for the 2026 season will air Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 6-7 p.m. CT at Buffalo Wild Wings.
