BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - David Walker scored 20 points and Will Campbell and Igor Nikolic each had 10 rebounds to lead UAB to a 76-68 win Wednesday night.
LeAndrew Bass added 16 points to help UAB (7-5), which forged a 9-point lead in the first half, 41-32. The Blazers outshot Alcorn St. (2-9) 49 percent to 42 percent in the first half.
UAB held on in the second half, although the Braves outshot the Blazers 41 percent to 31 percent.
Marcus Fleming led Alcorn St. with 16 points. Walter Harper and Jason Cable each added 14 points and Harper had 15 rebounds.
