UAB Men's Basketball Defeats Louisiana Tech

P.J. Arnold scored 23 points to lead five UAB players in double figures as the Blazers defeated Louisiana Tech 81-63 Wednesday evening at Bartow Arena.
The teams traded the lead three times in the first 10 minutes before UAB went on an 19-9 run over over a seven minute stretch to take its largest lead of the half, 31-21, with 3:52 remaining. Arnold scored all nine of his first-half points during that stretch - all on three pointers - and forward Antonae Roberson added seven.
UAB led 37-39 at the half.
The Blazers (5-5) built their lead steadily in the second half, never trailing and eventually leading by as many as 21 points. Arnold scored 14 points in the second half while Roberson had eight.
Arnold was joined in double figures by Roberson with 16 points, center Will Campbell with 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds, and forward Eric Batchelor and guard Eric Bush with 10 points each.
Marco Cole came off the bench to lead Louisiana Tech (5-3) with 14 points, followed by Antonio Meeking with 12 and Michael Wilder with 10.
UAB returns to action Saturday, Dec. 22, traveling to Philadelphia, Pa., to take on LaSalle. Tipoff is scheduled for Noon CST.
