UAB Track & Field Heads To Jace Lacoste Invitational Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB track and field team heads to Starkville, Miss., to compete in the 11th Annual Jace Lacoste Invitational Saturday at the W.O. Spencer Stadium/Carl Maddox Track on the Mississippi State University campus.
The meet will be UAB's second-consecutive meet in the state of Mississippi, as the Blazers competed at the Ole Miss Invitational last Saturday. In the unscored meet, the Blazers tallied six season bests and 16 top-10 finishes in the one-day event. UAB recorded nine top-five places as well. Elizabeth Hilligoss set a new career best with a time of 17:50.14 in the 5,000 meters, good for third overall.
Other squads scheduled to compete this weekend include Mississippi College, Birmingham-Southern, Tennessee-Martin's women, Samford, UAB's women, Bevill State (Ala.) Community College's women and Wallace State (Ala.) Community College.
