UAB Track And Field To Compete At LSU Relays

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's track and field team will participate in the LSU Relays on Friday and Saturday at Bernie Moore Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. This will mark the Blazers' second trip to Baton Rouge this year, having previously competed in the LSU Twilight meet on Feb. 16 during the indoor season.
"LSU is a great place to compete," said UAB head coach Ray Stanfield. "The weather is usually very good and the competition is the best you can find."
The Blazers are entered in 15 different events over the weekend, including six relays. UAB will compete in the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, 4x800, Sprint Medley and Distance Medley relays.
UAB will also feature individuals competing in the 100-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, 1500 meters, 3000-meter steeplechase, 5000 meters, high jump, long jump and triple jump.
The Blazers will begin competition on Friday at 3 p.m. with the women's high jump, 100-meter hurdles and the 4x100 meter relay.
