Relay Squad Places Third At Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas --- UAB's 4x800-meter relay team finished in third place Thursday at the 81st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Texas Relays.
Kendel Hood, Genoah Collins, Alina Varpiotaite and Bianca LeBlanc combined to run a 9:04.02, breaking the school record by four seconds.
LSU won the race with a time of 8:45.04, while Baylor (8:50.10) took second place. Kansas finished fourth (9:04.47) with Wayland Baptist (9:09.41) rounding out the top five.
The previous school record of 9:08.05 was set last year.
The relays continue through Saturday.
