UAB Set To Compete In Sea Ray Relays

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB track and field team will head to Knoxville, Tenn. this week to participate in the 43rd annual Sea Ray Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee. The four-day meet begins on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. CT with the women's heptathlon and will be held at Tennessee's Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium.
The meet will feature over 600 female athletes from 90 different affiliations. Participants will hail from some of the top women's team in the nation, including Tennessee, Louisville, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Connecticut, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and West Virginia.
The action starts on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. CT as Timara McMillan and Nora Mehl will compete in the first four events of the women's heptathlon, including the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200-meter dash. The second day of the heptathlon begins at 3:00 p.m. CT on Thursday and will feature the long jump, javelin throw and 800-meter run.
Friday's full slate of women's action starts at 11:15 p.m. CT with the women's open 5000-meter run and concludes with the 10,000-meter run at 6:45 p.m. CT.
Saturday's lineup will start with the shuttle hurdle relay at 11:40 p.m. CT and wrap-up with the 4x400-meter relay at 4:25 p.m. CT.
