BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –The UAB track and field team will compete at the Samford Invitational on Saturday at the Samford Track and Soccer Stadium. The competition will serve as a final tune-up for the Blazers as they prepare for the 2012 Outdoor C-USA Championships May 11-13 hosted by Tulane in New Orleans.

UAB will not compete in its first race until 5 p.m. with the 4x100-meter relay. The Blazers will also compete in the 4x400-meter relay, 110 and 400-meter hurdles, 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 1,500 meters.

UAB will round out its competition Saturday with four field events in the high jump, triple jump, pole vault and javelin throw.
