BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Following one of the most successful seasons in UAB’s track and field history highlighted by Elinor Kirk and Neal Tisher, the UAB Athletics Department will host a celebration of the Blazers’ success on Thursday, June 19 at 1 p.m. in the Champion Club room in Bartow Arena.
Fans are invited to come by and congratulate Kirk and Tisher on their outstanding seasons. Both qualified for the NCAA Championships this past year. Kirk finished as a two-event First-Team All-America athlete, while Tisher shattered UAB’s pole vault records and set a new Conference USA record back at the 2014 C-USA Outdoor Championships.
The Blazers were ranked a program-high No. 25 entering the championships in Eugene and finished ranked tied for 22nd in the NCAA.
Those attending on Thursday can enter the Champion Club room on the 13th Street South entrance of Bartow Arena.
