UAB Heads to Mississippi State for Jace LaCoste Invite

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB track and field team takes part in its final meet before Conference USA Championships when the Blazers travel to Starkville, Miss., on Saturday to take part in the Mississippi State Jace LaCoste Invite.
Competition begins at 8 a.m. with the women’s hammer throw, while running events are scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. with the women’s 4x100-meter relay.
“This is our last meet before conference championships and we have a few things to iron out in certain events, so we are using this meet to try and get things right,” UAB head coach Kurt Thomas said. “We have had several quality meets where we’ve shown good improvement, and we want to continue that momentum on Saturday.”
The Blazers will compete against several teams from the southeast, including Florida State, Samford, Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss, South Alabama and Vanderbilt.
