Blazers Return Home Sunday to Face Mississippi College

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men's basketball team makes its return to Bartow Arena Sunday at 3 p.m. when the Blazers host Mississippi College.
UAB (3-3) enters play following an appearance in the inaugural Cayman Islands Classic, matching up with Richmond, Buffalo and Iowa over the course of the tournament.
Freshman guard Zack Bryant was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 13.7 points and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 42.4 percent from the field. Overall, the Hastings, Fla., native ranks second on the team with 15.0 points per game.
Senior forward Chris Cokley averages a double-double for UAB with 19.0 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, ranking third in Conference USA in scoring and first in rebounding. Newcomer Jalen Perry adds 11.0 points per game and shoots a team-best 45.0 percent from three-point range.
Mississippi College (2-2) won its last two games after opening the season with consecutive losses to Embry-Riddle and Palm Beach Atlantic. The Choctaws play in the Gulf South Conference and compete at the NCAA Division II level.
Senior forward Stacey Mack paces the Mississippi College offense with 20.5 points per game to go along with 5.8 rebounds per game. Junior Donovan Ham adds 13.5 points per game and both Brandon Boston and Antonio Johnson pour in 12.0 points per game.
UAB and Mississippi College will meet for the first time on Sunday. The Blazers have enjoyed a 35-6 record at home against non-conference competition since the start of the 2012-13 season.
