AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. – The UAB women's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the spring with a tied for 11th place finish at the Amelia Island Collegiate.
"We still struggled a bit," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "Sydney played better today. We have work to do before we return to Jacksonville for North Florida's event. We have to get rid of the doubles."
Sydney Snodgrass rebounded nicely after two tough opening rounds to shoot a three-over par 75 and finished tied for 52nd overall. Maria Donado led UAB on the leaderboard finishing tied for 20th with a 79 (+7) in the closing round.
Juliana Sebastian shaved five strokes off of her second round score to card a 78 (+6) on the final 18 holes and finished tied for 56th. Kenna Hughes turned in an 82 (+10) and finished tied for 61st while Stephenie Fowler finished in 72nd overall after a closing 80 (+8).
Campbell and Daytona State were tied after 54 holes of play with the Camels taking home the team title as it was awarded to the lowest individual score between the two schools from round three.
UAB returns to the course March 5-6 at the North Florida Collegiate in Jacksonville.
