BIRMINGHAM, Ala. β The UAB baseball team continues its eight game homestand on Tuesday night when it welcomes the No. 9 Auburn Tigers to Regions Field at 6:30 p.m.

Scouting Auburn
The Tigers (12-0) come to town on Tuesday as one of just five unbeaten teams in the country. Auburn outscored BYU 34-13 last weekend at Plainsman Park. The Plainsmen rank sixth in the country in runs (115), seventh in runs per game (9.6) and 12th in shutouts (2).

Junior Brendan Venter ranks fourth in the nation in batting average hitting a team-best .500. The infielder has 22 hits with 12 runs and 11 RBI. He also ranks eighth in the country in hits and ninth in on-base percentage (.600).

Auburn is slated to start RHP Ryan Hoerter on the mound. The freshman has pitched 2.0 innings and allowed just one, hit no runs and one strikeout.

Quick Hitters
- UAB (5-5) went 1-2 over the weekend against Iowa. After dropping the first two games, the Blazers shutout the Hawkeyes in the series finale for their first shutout since March 19, 2017
- UAB's pitchers have been strong this season as its 2.53 ERA is good for the third lowest ERA in Conference USA. Ryan Wesson leads the staff with a 1.15 mark over three appearances
- Wesson has made an immediate impact on the mound for the Green and Gold as he is one of just 18 pitchers in the NCAA to not allow a walk this season. The junior has pitched a combined 15.2 innings with 11 strikeouts, 14 hits and has surrendered just two earned runs
- Tyler Tolbert is once again a weapon on the base paths for UAB this season. The sophomore is a perfect 6-for-6 on stolen bases this season and ranks 32nd in stolen bases in per game (0.6)
- Thomas Johns wore out Iowa at the plate on Saturday as the sophomore knocked a career-high two doubles and added a RBI
- The Blazers have been immensely successful at Regions Field since moving into the ballpark in 2014. Sunday's 4-0 win over Iowa marked UAB's 50th win inside the friendly confines
