UAB Opens Conference USA Play at Charlotte on Thursday

BIRMINGHAM – The 2020 Conference USA season begins on Thursday night when UAB (9-5, 0-0 C-USA) visits Charlotte (6-5, 0-0 C-USA) at Halton Arena. Tipoff is schedule for 6 p.m. (CT) 7 p.m. (ET)
UAB AND CHARLOTTE
UAB and Charlotte began the series on Jan. 28, 1980 at the BJCC when the teams were members of the Sun Belt Conference. They have met a total of 48 times, in eight cities and 11 different venues, with the Blazers holding dominant 38-11 advantage. The teams have played every season since 2013-14 when Charlotte rejoined C-USA after spending the previous eight seasons in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
ABOUT CHARLOTTE
Charlotte (6-5) is coming off a 60-56 setback as East Carolina on Dec 22. Three players average double-figure scoring in Jordan Shephard (15.4 ppg), Jahmir Young (10.5 ppg) and Drew Edwards (10.5 ppg). Edwards is the team's leading rebounder with 5.6 rpg.
