BIRMINGHAM - UAB will head to Texas for a pair of games beginning Jan. 30 when the Blazers (12-9, 3-5 C-USA) visit UTSA (10-11, 4-4 C-USA).Β

The series began in 2014 when UTSA joined Conference USA. In total, the teams have met eight times, with UAB winning five of the contests - including last season's quarterfinal match in the C-USA Championship.Β
ABOUT UTSAΒ Β Β
UTSA (10-11, 4-4 C-USA) is coming off a 90-88 victory at Rice on Jan. 25. The Roadrunners are 8-1 in home games this season. UTSA is second in the league in scoring with 78.9 points per game. Jhivvan Jackson leads the NCAA with 553 total points and is second in the country with 26.3 ppg. Jackson is also nationally ranked in the top 10 with field goal attempts (1st/443), field goals made (2nd/186), 3-pointers made (4th/77) and 3-pointers per game (6th/3.67). Keaton Wallace is third in C-USA in scoring (18.0 ppg) and has the most single-game free throws made by any C-USA team (15 vs. Texas A&M Corpus-Christi).

Zack Bryant scored 18 of his team-high 24 points in the second half in UAB's 85-76 victory over UTSA in the Quarterfinal Round of the Conference USA Championship on March 14, 2019 at the Ford Center. The Blazers (20-13), who put up 50 points in the second half, also got double-figure scoring from Jalen Perry, Lewis Sullivan and Makhtar Gueye β adding 18, 16 and 12 points respectively. Jhivvan Jackson led all scorers with 35 points for UTSA (17-15).
