Javian Davis also added 17 points in the win as five different Blazers scored in double figures.
GETTING COMFORTABLE
Yaxel Lendeborg is beginning to find his rhythm in his debut season at UAB. The junior forward had a breakout game on the offensive end against Furman where he filled up the stat sheet with 19 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks, three assists and two steals, all while shooting 8-for-10 from the field. Earlier in the week against Middle Tennessee, Lendeborg scored nine points while grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking three shots. So far this season, he has blocked a shot in every game. The 6'9" forward is averaging 8.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game early in his career.
PROTECTING THE RIM
The Blazers have blocked 31 shots over their first six games of the season, led by Yaxel Lendeborg with 16 rejections. He ranks second in the AAC with 2.7 blocks per game. UAB blocked at least five shots in four straight games from Nov. 12-25, its longest such streak since the 2015-16 season. Seven different players have blocked at least one shot this season.
SHARING THE WEALTH
The Blazers have nine different players that average over 10 minutes per game while seven players average at least 18 minutes per contest. Eric Gaines is the only player on the roster that plays over 30 minutes each night.
