Men's Basketball Set to Host Drake

BIRMINGHAM - UAB men's basketball will host Drake on Friday afternoon at Bartow Arena. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT.
UAB employees can purchase discounted tickets at this link for our employee appreciation game. Employees will also be able to purchase $2 hotdogs and $2 popcorn by showing a valid OneCard at the concession stand.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday's meeting will be the first ever between the Blazers and the Bulldogs. Former UAB guard Nick Norton, son of UAB women's basketball coach Randy Norton, is on the Drake staff.
LAST TIME OUT
UAB cruised to a 92-56 win over Montevallo on Sunday afternoon. Javian Davis led the Blazers with a career high 22 points in only 24 minutes of action. Eric Gaines did a little bit of everything for UAB, adding eight points, 10 assists and seven steals.
VETERAN PRESENCE
Javian Davis enters his final year of eligibility in 2023-24 and is primed to play a big role on this year's UAB team. Davis averaged 6.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per game last season while splitting time with Trey Jemison. Davis opened the 2023-24 season with a career performance against Bradley, scoring 20 points, grabbing 15 rebounds and securing four steals while shooting 8-for-9 from the field. Davis has set a career high in points twice this season against Middle Tennessee with 21 and Montevallo with 22.
GETTING COMFORTABLE
Yaxel Lendeborg is beginning to find his rhythm in his debut season at UAB. The junior forward had a breakout game on the offensive end against Furman where he filled up the stat sheet with 19 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks, three assists and two steals, all while shooting 8-for-10 from the field. Earlier in the week against Middle Tennessee, Lendeborg scored nine points while grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking three shots. So far this season, he has blocked a shot in every game. The 6'9" forward is averaging 9.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game early in his career.
