The Blazers Welcome the Hilltoppers for Weekend Series

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Baseball (10-22, 3-9 C-USA) will welcome the WKU Hilltoppers (17-17, 2-10 C-USA) to Young Memorial Field for games 33-35 of the season. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 5 P.M. and all three games will air on CUSA TV.

UAB will host two more Conference USA series including the final series of the regular season. Fans have two promotional opportunities to take a part in this weekend at YMF – Bark in the Park and Signature Sunday. On Saturday, any fan who brings a bag of dog food will get free admission and fans are encouraged to bring their furry friends to the game. At the conclusion of Sunday's game, kids are invited to run the bases as well as participate in Signature Sunday.
Both the Blazers and Hilltoppers sit at the bottom of the conference, but WKU sits third in team batting average and ERA (.288 and 4.50, respectfully) while UAB leads C-USA in fielding percentage (.976) and second in sacrifice bunts (18).

UAB BLAZERS
Offensively for UAB, Logan Braunschweig enters the weekend leading the team in batting average (.357) while Tyler Waugh falls second with (.304). Christian Hall sits third in batting average (.283) but is leading the team in hits (32) and RBIs (21) and is tied for most home runs (4) with Brayton Brown. Braunschweig and Hall have .400 or better slugging percentage (.452 and .425, respectfully). Four Blazers record a .400 or better on-base percentage including Braunschweig (.466), Waugh (.402) and Hall (.413).
Starting Rotation:
UAB will keep its weekend rotation – Brooks Walton, Blayze Berry and Carson Myers. Walton (2-3, 4.50 ERA) will make his eighth start of the season and will look for a win after given a no decision in his last outing at DBU. Berry (2-2, 3.72 ERA) will step on the mound after also throwing a no decision. Myers (1-3, 3.12 ERA) took the loss in game three of the UAB and DBU series last weekend.
WKU HILLTOPPERS
Five of WKU's starters sit with a .300 or better batting average including Drew Reckart who leads the team (.356) and Tristin Garcia who sits second (.339). Lukas Farris and Ty Batusich are tied with most home runs for the Hilltoppers (5). WKU has a .961 fielding percentage compared to UAB's .976.
Starting Rotation:
The Hilltoppers will start Lane Diuguid (0-2, 2.87 ERA) in game one followed by Devyn Terbrak (3-3, 3.45) on Saturday then Dawson Hall (4-3, 3.03) to close out the series.
UAB AND WKU HISTORY
WKU have the slight lead in the overall series 39-33. During the last matchup, UAB took game two by a score of 7-1 but ultimately lost the series.
