Dallas, Texas – The UAB Baseball team (10-21, 3-9) dropped the final game of the series to DBU (23-9, 9-3) by a score of 7-2 on Saturday, April 8.
Isaiah Mack collected UAB's first hit of the game to end three no hit innings for DBU's starting pitcher Zach Heaton who held the Blazers to two hits. It was not until the seventh inning when the Blazers scored their first run after Logan Braunschweig singled to right field to drive in Tyler Waugh who reached base on a double. In the ninth, UAB quickly loaded the bases after back-to-back-to-back singles from the top of the order – John Marc Mullins, Waugh and Christian Hall. Blayze Berry grounded into a double play, but Mullins came home for the Blazers' final run of the game.
Carson Myers (1-3) started on the mound for UAB, but received the loss after he threw a complete five innings and allowed two runs – earned – on five hits with six strikeouts. Five Blazers followed Myers including Thomas Ballard, Tyler O'Clair, Jonah Smith, Carson Knight and Leo Harris. Ballard, Knight and Harris threw for a combined two third innings while Ballard and Knight both allowed one earned run. O'Clair allowed no runs on one hit through his one inning on the hill.
