UAB Men’s Soccer Returns Home to Face Tulsa

BIRMINGHAM –UAB men's soccer (4-3-3, 1-2 AAC) returns home to face Tulsa (2-7-2, 1-2 AAC) on Saturday after playing six of the last seven matches on the road. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.

SERIES HISTORY
Tulsa leads the all-time series 12-3-2. UAB's last win in the series came during the 2013 season. The Golden Hurricane are undefeated in Birmingham.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLAZERS
The Blazers fell fell to FIU on the road on Saturday by a score of 3-2. After falling behind 3-0 in the first half, UAB battled back thanks to goals from Humphrey Doh and Mathis Richter, but ultimately the Blazers could not overcome the deficit.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN HURRICANE
Tulsa is led by Camilo Vargas up front. He leads the team with three goals and two assists on the season. Alex Lopes, the primary goalkeeper for the Golden Hurricane, is the reigning Goalkeeper of the Year in the American Conference.
SOPHOMORE SENSATIONS
UAB Sophomores have scored 10 of the Blazers' 13 goals this season, led by Tony Kim and Lucas Rizzo with three goals each and Humphrey Doh with two. Isaac Calderon and Gui Gragnano each have scored once this season.
LILLY'S TURNAROUND
David Lilly took over the reins for UAB after the Blazers did not win a match during the 2023 season. So far this year, Lilly has helped UAB reach its highest win total since 2018, reach as high as 30 in the RPI, win its first conference match since 2021 and pick up a win over an ACC opponent for the first time since 2011.
