Volleyball Preview: North Texas and East Carolina

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Volleyball team will host North Texas and East Carolina for the last weekend of conference play. UAB will face North Texas Friday at 7 pm, and East Carolina Sunday at 12 pm.
Friday we will be hosting Alumni Night for former UAB volleyball players. We will also be giving away Pizza while supplies last. Sunday we will celebrate the four UAB seniors: Anna Hewitt, Madison Page, Asli Celikkol, and Chloe Rodriguez.
UAB has played North Texas 15 times, winning just four of those. The Blazers have lost five straight games to the Mean Green and have only one win in Bartow Arena.
The Green and Gold have dominated the series over East Carolina with a 17-7 record. East Carolina has won the last two games, both coming in Birmingham. Before that, UAB had won 13 straight games against ECU.
North Texas sits at seventh in the conference standings with a 5-5 record. East Carolina is third in conference play with a 7-3 record and a 97 RPI ranking.
Jorda Crook and Mia Reese had outstanding weekends while UAB dropped games to Tulsa and Wichita State. Reese hit .332 with 24 total kills while Crook had 30 total kills.
