BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's basketball returns to Bartow Arena on Sunday to face off with Middle Tennessee. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. CT.
The 3rd Annual Teddy Bear Toss will take place at halftime of Sunday's contest in partnership with the UAB IT Department. Fans that bring a new and unused teddy bear to the game can purchase tickets at the door for just $5! Fans that already have tickets to the game are also encouraged to bring a teddy bear to contribute to a great cause.

SERIES HISTORY
The Blazers lead the all-time series 19-10 over the Blue Raiders. UAB won last year's meeting in Murfreesboro by a score of 58-57. Eric Gaines' steal with seconds remaining helped the Blazers hang on for the win.
LAST TIME OUT
UAB went 1-2 at the Paradise Jam over the past week but finished the tournament with a 98-86 win over Louisiana. Alejandro Vasquez scored 25 points while Yaxel Lendeborg added 20 of his own to lead the team. Christian Coleman also finished with a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double.
VASQUEZ RETURNS FOR YEAR TWO
Alejandro Vasquez made his debut as a Blazer in 2023-24 after being ranked as the No. 6 JUCO player in the nation and he did not disappoint. He averaged 11.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting .394 from three. Vasquez had a team-leading five games with 20+ points on the season. During conference play, he shot .434 from beyond the arc. After struggling early in the season, he finally broke out with 19 points against Illinois State and 25 points against Louisiana at the Paradise Jam.
JUCO DAWGS
UAB has embraced the JUCO ranks during Andy Kennedy's time in Birmingham and the 2024-25 roster features seven players that have played at a Junior College including Christian Coleman (South Plains), Greg Gordon (Dyersburg State), Marquis Hargrove (Arizona Western), Ja'Borri McGhee (Garden City/South Plains), Yaxel Lendeborg (Arizona Western), and Alejandro Vasquez (Salt Lake). JUCO players accounted for 41.7% of the Blazers' scoring last season and 48.4% of their rebounding. So far this season, JUCO players have accounted for 71.4% of the Blazers' scoring and 64.2% of their rebounding.
PROMOTIONAL INFO
Fans will be instructed to toss their teddy bears onto the court at halftime. All teddy bears that are collected will be donated to the UAB Toy Drive which benefits children in need throughout the Birmingham metro area.
Additional promotions for the game will include: a pregame autograph session featuring the UAB women's basketball team and select members of the UAB football team, photos with Santa Claus (pregame), and a rally towel giveaway while supplies last.

Season tickets for the 2024-25 UAB men's basketball season are still available starting as low as $110. Season packages will feature all home games during UAB's second season in the American Athletic Conference and provide the most cost-effective way to attend games in Bartow Arena. UAB Athletics is excited to announce the third annual Blazers Give Day, a 24-hour fundraising initiative, which is set to take place on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd.
