UAB Volleyball Preview: Memphis

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB Volleyball team will host their last home game of the year Wednesday against Memphis at 7 pm.
Memphis are just one game ahead of UAB at 5-7 in the conference and 11-13 overall. The last time the two teams played the Tigers saw a 3-0 win where Memphis hit .424 in the 3rd set.
The Blazers beat North Texas on Friday and lost to East Carolina on Sunday. UAB sits at 10th in the AAC standings while Memphis is at 8th. The Tigers are also coming off of a win against North Texas and a loss to East Carolina. The top eight teams in the AAC will move on to the conference championship at Wichita State.
When we compare the statistics, Memphis leads a majority of the categories including kills per set (12.87) and aces per set (1.80). UAB leads in hitting percentage (.206) and blocks per set (2.16).
UAB will host a canned food drive on Wednesday Night in partnership with Magic City Harvest. Fans that bring a can will get a $3 ticket into the game.
