Baseball Heads South to Face Auburn

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB baseball team will head down to Plainsman Park to face SEC opponent Auburn on Tuesday. Auburn hosted Eastern Kentucky on opening weekend winning all three games.
UAB was able to win two out of three to open up their campaign after dropping the first game to Kennesaw State. This will be the first road test for the Blazers as the first three games were played at home.
Transfer Jake Smallwood made an early impact as he went 6 for 11 on the weekend and made some great stops behind the plate. Pitchers Berry Blayze, Isaac Warrick, and Colin Daniel also shined in their 2024 season debuts. The Blazers will look to carry that momentum into Tuesday's game vs Auburn.
UAB and Auburn played two games last year splitting the series 1-1. In the first game Auburn won 4-1 on a 4-3 hitting advantage. In the second game Tyler Waugh scored in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Blazers a 6-5 win. Waugh went 3 for 4 hitting one double and two singles. Auburn owns the series vs UAB with 33 wins and 5 losses.
Christian Clack will start on the mound for the Blazers Tuesday night. Clack came in from the bullpen in the first game vs Kennesaw State and pitched 0.2 innings with one strike out. Clack comes off a year where he made 22 appearances and threw 1.1 scoreless innings against Auburn last year.
Starting for Auburn will be right handed pitcher Conner McBride. McBride will look to pitch his first innings as an Auburn Tiger on Tuesday night. The Junior played junior college ball last year at St. John's River State.
Familiar Faces
Carson Myers and Christian Hall both transferred from UAB to Auburn last year. Both players have already made an impact as Meyers started the Sunday game and Hall played in two games on the weekend.
Game Details
The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+. First pitch for Tuesday is set for 6 p.m.
