UAB Baseball Set to Host Southeastern Louisiana

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB baseball team will host its second series of the year against Southeastern Louisiana. The series will start on Friday at 2 p.m. followed by Saturday's contest at 2 p.m. and Sunday's finale at 1 p.m.
UAB is coming off a midweek loss to SEC opponent Auburn 7-2. The Blazers did win their first series against Kennesaw State last weekend to sit at an overall record of 2-2.
Southeastern Louisiana is coming off a midweek game against South Alabama where they lost 8-1. The Lions went 25-25 last year with a 9-16 conference record. The year before that the SLU won the Southland Conference and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Coach Bobby Barbier enters his first season with Southeastern Louisiana. The Lions are led by Jude Hall in the hitting department. He is currently hitting .375 with 1 RBI and 3 hits. On the mound, the Lions have two pitchers with a .000 ERA. Dekota Lee (4.1 IP) and Jackson Rodriguez (4.2 IP).
UAB weekend rotation will be Blayze Berry, Isaac Warrick, and Colin Daniel. All three of these pitchers have made starts this year with a combined 2.25 ERA.
The Blazers are led by Jake Smallwood and Logan Braunschweig who lead the team in batting average with Smallwood hitting .500 and Braunschweig .294. UAB has hit six doubles and three home runs in their first four games.
UAB has played Southeastern Louisiana three times in its history, all coming in 2022. The Blazers won two out of three, winning the last matchup 6-5.
GAME TIME:
First pitch, for both Friday and Saturday, is set for 2 p.m. Sunday's game will be played at 1 p.m.
