Men's Soccer Earns Late Draw at Georgia Southern

STATESBORO, Ga. – Sophomore Gui Gragnano scored an equalizer for UAB men's soccer (2-1-3) with 1:02 remaining to secure a 2-2 draw against Georgia Southern (3-0-2).
The Blazers took an early lead as Lucas Rizzo scored his first collegiate goal in the 17th minute after Gustavo Barbosa played a cross in with his left foot to set it up.
Jonathan Munteanu made a plethora of impressive saves in the first half to keep the Blazers ahead until the break.
The Eagles were able to tie it up in the 59th minute as Massimo Caruso took a shot with his right foot from well outside the box and caught Munteanu off his line. Georgia Southern took the lead shortly afterwards on a corner kick in the 68th minute as Harry Dale found Ricky Louis.
UAB was able to secure a late draw when Gustavo Barbosa found Gui Gragnano in the box and he headed it home for the equalizer. The Blazers scored two goals in a match for the first time this season.

The Blazers open conference play on Saturday, September 21 at home against Florida Atlantic. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.
