Blazers Host Green Wave on Tuesday Night

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's basketball (8-7, 1-1 AAC) is set to host Tulane (8-7, 2-0 AAC) on Tuesday night at Bartow Arena. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT.
On Tuesday, UAB will be celebrating Blaze's birthday. Various Birmingham mascots will be in attendance including: Stanley (Birmingham Stallions), Commander (Birmingham Squadron), Babe Ruff (Birmingham Barons) and Toro (Birmingham Bulls).

SERIES HISTORY
UAB leads the all-time series over Tulane, 26-13. The Blazers won each of last year's meetings with the Green Wave by double digits.
LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers picked up an 83-51 conference win over Tulsa on Saturday, UAB's largest margin of victory since the 2022-23 season. Alejandro Vasquez was the spark, scoring 27 points which was just two shy of his career high.
FAST PACED, HIGH POWERED OFFENSE
Tempo has often been a theme of Andy Kennedy's teams, and the 2024-25 roster has continued that. The Blazers rank 75th in the country in tempo while scoring 85.1 points per game, which is 19th nationally. UAB leads the nation in fast break points per game with 20.1 per contest.
GET TO THE LINE
The Blazers were one of the best teams in the country at getting to the charity stripe in 2023-24, finishing eighth in the country in free throws made per game at 17.8. This year, the Blazers are again getting to the free throw line at a high rate. UAB is tied for 71st in the nation with 15.8 free throws made per game and 47th in the country at 76.5 percent from the charity stripe.
CRASH THE BOARDS
This season, UAB is again among the top rebounding teams in the nation, ranking 15th in the country in rebounds per contest with 41.4. UAB is especially strong on the offensive glass with 14.7 offensive boards per game, which is 13th in the nation. Yaxel Lendeborg led the team in rebounding last season with 10.6 per game. He has grabbed 15 or more rebounds in 12 games as a Blazer, including a 21-rebound game vs. Florida Atlantic which ranks second in program history.
