WINNING IN BARTOW
- UAB is 72-14 at Bartow Arena during Andy Kennedy's five-year tenure as a head coach.
- The Blazers went 14-4 last season in Bartow.
NEW ROSTER
- In this new age of college athletics, UAB returned just one player (Joey Kahn (Mobile, Ala./St. Paul's Episcopal)) and zero scholarship players from the 2024-25 season.
- UAB added six Division I transfers, four JUCO transfers, two freshmen and two walk-ons to round out the 2025-26 roster.
- Of those 10 transfers, three have played at three or more schools (KyeRon Lindsay-Martin, Ahmad Robinson, and Daniel Rivera).
- Dayjaun Anderson, Quaran McPherson, and Chance Westry are the other three Division I transfers.
- Ari Gooch and Evan Chatman both came from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas.
SUCCESS UNDER ANDY KENNEDY
- UAB is one of six DI teams to have made four consecutive conference championship games (Houston, Yale, Drake, Gonzaga, and Saint Mary's).
- The Blazers are coming off their fifth straight 20+ win season.
- Over the last five years, UAB has won 125 games which is tied for eleventh most in the NCAA during that period. That is also the most by any UAB coach during a five year span.
- The Blazers have four straight post-season appearances including two NCAA tournament appearances and two NIT appearances.
MILESTONE WATCH
- Daniel Rivera is 18 rebounds away from 500 in his collegiate career.
- Ahmad Robinson got his 1000th career point at Mercer last season. He has played in 64 total games.
- KyeRon Lindsay-Martin is three points away from 300 in his collegiate career.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Blazers welcome Mississippi Valley State in the 10th ever meeting between the teams.
- UAB holds an undefeated 9-0 record in the series.
- The closest margin of victory was a 13-point victory, 75-62 in 1994.
- The most points scored in the contest was 184 in 1992 (103-81)
- There have only been two matchups in the 20th century (2017 & 2021).
