LAST TIME OUT
UAB went on the road and snapped Wichita State's six-game winning streak, downing the Shockers by a score of 80-72. Alejandro Vasquez matched his career high of 29 points to lead the team while Bradley Ezewiro, Christian Coleman and Yaxel Lendeborg each finished in double figures.
APPROACHING HISTORY
The Blazers have won 120 games over the last five seasons, tying the program record for the most wins over any five-year stretch. The previous record of 120 was set from 2019-24. UAB has also surpassed the most wins over a five-year stretch with one head coach, previously set from 1981-86 when the Blazers won 117 games under Gene Bartow.
FAST PACED, HIGH POWERED OFFENSE
Tempo has often been a theme of Andy Kennedy's teams, and the 2024-25 roster has continued that. The Blazers rank 89th in the country in tempo while scoring 83.4 points per game, which is 11th nationally and leads the American Conference. UAB is also fifth in the nation in fast break points per game with 16.3 per contest. The Blazers have scored 90+ points in nine games this season, their most since the 1990-91 season.
CRASH THE BOARDS
This season, UAB is again among the top rebounding teams in the nation, ranking 13th in the country in rebounds per contest with 40.4. UAB is especially strong on the offensive glass with 14.9 offensive boards per game, which is third in the nation. The Blazers grab 39.2 percent of their misses on the offensive end, which is the fourth best rate in the country. Yaxel Lendeborg led the team in rebounding last season with 10.6 per game and is again averaging double figures on the glass. He has grabbed 15 or more rebounds in 13 games as a Blazer, including a 21-rebound game vs. Florida Atlantic which ranks second in program history.
