Recapping the Weekend at Wake Forest Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – UAB Track & Field had four participants in the Wake Forest Invitational this weekend in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Thursday and Friday.

Kelly Hughes finished fourth in Heat 2 of the 800m with a time of 2:14.87. Lia Castillo finished her 800m race with a time of 2:11.04.

Kenlie Nelson finished ninth of 26 runners in the 5000m race on Thursday night. Nelson's time of 17:13.87 was her personal best time.

Lia Castillo came back on Friday and finished fourth in the 1500m. Castillo finished with a time of 4:38.21.

The Green and Gold return to full strength next weekend as the Blazers travel to Baton Rouge to compete in the LSU Alumni Gold at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium. All meet schedules and information will be posted at a later date.
