Blazers Open 2026 Season at Home Against Georgia State

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's soccer will begin the 2026 campaign on Wednesday night as the Blazers host Georgia State at PNC Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT and will air live on ESPN+.
SERIES HISTORY
UAB leads the all-time series 3-1-1. Last time the Blazers faced the Panthers was Oct. 28, 2020, in Atlanta, Ga., where GSU earned a 2-0 win.
NEW FACES
UAB brought in eight new players for the 2026 season, including six freshmen and two via the transfer portal.
RETURNING PRODUCTION
The Blazers top three goal scores from last season have all returned. Lailah Stewart who led the team with eight goals, Avery Berryman who scored five goals and Ava Mills who recorded four goals. Other players returning who scored goals are Lauren Lucero (2), Caitlin Keeling (2), Mia Leath (2), Lola Sommer (2) and Sydney Bolinger (1). In total, UAB has 19 players returning with 10 being starters.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Georgia State finished the 2025 season 9-8-2 overall and 5-4-1 in league play. The Panthers return 16 players from last season including seven starters. GSU welcomes 13 newcomers including seven freshmen, five transfers and one graduate student.
