UAB Wraps Up Sea Ray Relays With Victory

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Kendel Hood, Bianca LeBlanc, Alina Varpiotaite and Sandra Lundberg capped off an impressive four days at the Sea Ray Relays by winning the distance medley relay here on Saturday.
"It was another great day," said UAB head coach Ray Stanfield. "We had a great week and showed we can compete against some of the top teams and athletes in the nation."
Hood, LeBlanc, Varpiotaite and Lundberg posted a time of 11:48.67, beating the competition by nearly 10 seconds. The time was the fourth fastest in UAB history.
Three other relay squads competed on the last day of the meet. LeBlanc, Lauren Fayen, Colleen Standridge and Kristina Vaughn posted an 11th-place finish in the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 9:26.45.
The 4x100-meter squad of Adriennie Bradley, Lakeea Gamble, Timara McMillan and Veronica Johnson posted a time of 48.09. Gamble, Varpiotaite, Johnson and LeBlanc posted a time of 3:52.97 in the 4x400-meter relay.
Next up for the Blazers will be the War Eagle Invitational in Auburn, Ala. on Saturday, April 18.
