LEXINGTON, Ky. – The UAB men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on a heartbreaker at No. 19 Kentucky Friday night. UAB drops to 2-1-2 on the season while the Wildcats improve to 4-0-1.

"I thought we were very good tonight. On the road at No. 19 Kentucky and we dictated how the game was played. Give Kentucky credit. They are very good and made the most of their chances," head coach Mike Getman said.
In the 74th minute freshman Aidan O'Hara took a hard lining shot off of the UAB throw in but the Wildcat defender met it at the line and kicked it back into play.
In an effort to keep the game alive late, UAB keeper James Teal made a sliding save on a free ball to keep the game tied at 0 in the 76th minute. Teal finished the game with three saves.
