UAB Men's Soccer Caps Off Undefeated Opening Weekend with Shutout

BIRMINGHAM – After going scoreless in the first half, UAB men's soccer (2-0-0) put three goals in the back of the net in the final 45 minutes to cruise to a 3-0 victory over Queens (0-2-0).
The Blazers were not able to break through in the first half despite a handful of quality chances. In the 26th minute, Oskar Wolf of Queens was sent off with his second yellow card of the match, leaving the Royals shorthanded.
Nathaniel St. Louis put the Blazers ahead early in the second half, driving home a penalty from the spot into the bottom right corner to make it 1-0. Moments later, Curtis DeLeon found Brooks Rice who drove home his second goal of the season with his left foot, making it 2-0.
The newest Blazer, Zsombor Kalnokis-Kiss, scored his first collegiate goal in the 85th minute to put the match away.
NOTES
The Blazers will take on No. 15 Wake Forest at PNC Field on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. CT.
