SERIES HISTORY
The Blazers and Golden Eagles will meet for the 56th time. UAB leads the all-time series 37-19. The teams' last meeting was in the first round of the 2023 NIT when UAB downed Southern Miss, 88-60.
LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers fell to McNeese State, 81-60, on Tuesday night at Bartow Arena. Daniel Ortiz led the way for the Blazers with a season-high 20 points while Shahada Wells scored 36 for the Cowboys with 26 coming in the second half.
PROTECTING THE RIM
The Blazers have blocked 38 shots over their first seven games of the season, led by Yaxel Lendeborg with 16 rejections. He ranks second in the AAC with 2.3 blocks per game. UAB blocked at least five shots in five straight games from Nov. 12-28, its longest such streak since the 2015-16 season. Eight different players have blocked at least one shot this season.
THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
Throughout its history, the UAB men's basketball program has seen incredible success in Birmingham, holding a 437-108 record in Bartow Arena since the Blazers' on-campus home opened back in 1988. That success has continued with Andy Kennedy returning to his alma mater, as the third year UAB head coach holds a 50-8 record at home (Bartow and Legacy Arena) since taking over the program.
