BIRMINGHAM - UAB men's basketball (5-5) hosts Montevallo (2-8) on Sunday afternoon at Bartow Arena. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be only the second meeting between UAB and Montevallo. The Blazers won the only other matchup 75-63 in 2019.
LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers snapped their three-game losing streak on Wednesday night with a 93-82 win at Alabama A&M. Yaxel Lendeborg led the Blazers with 16 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, four steals and three blocks. Five different players finished in double figures including Eric Gaines, who finished with 14 points and a season-high eight assists.
GETTING COMFORTABLE
Yaxel Lendeborg is beginning to find his rhythm in his debut season at UAB. The junior forward had a breakout game on the offensive end against Furman where he filled up the stat sheet with 19 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks, three assists and two steals, all while shooting 8-for-10 from the field. So far this season, he has blocked a shot in every game. The 6'9" forward is averaging 9.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game with three double-doubles early in his career.
PROTECTING THE RIM
The Blazers have blocked 47 shots over their first eight games of the season, led by Yaxel Lendeborg with 24 rejections. UAB blocked at least five shots in four straight games from Nov. 12-25, its longest such streak since the 2015-16 season. Eight different players have blocked at least one shot this season.
