UAB Drops Rubber Match Against Charlotte

BIRMINGHAM – UAB (9-18, 3-6) dropped the final game of the series to Charlotte (13-14, 5-4) by a score of 5-0 on Sunday, April 2 at Young Memorial Field.
Carson Myers took the mound first for the UAB and received the loss after he allowed one run – earned – on two hits and collected five strikeouts through five and two thirds of an inning. Tyler O'Clair and John Luke Marlin followed Myers. O'Clair threw one and a third of an inning and allowed one run while Marlin closed the game out on the hill and allowed three runs on four hits with two strikeouts.
Charlotte held a 1-0 lead through seven innings, with their score coming in the third inning off Kaden Hopson's RBI double. The 49ers scored four runs in the eighth to extend their lead while the Charlotte relievers continued to hold the Blazers scoreless. Although UAB brought in no runs, Christian Hall and Logan Braunschweig, who went 2-for-3, collected the Blazers' three hits on the day.

UAB and Auburn will meet for the second time this season at Regions Field on Tuesday, April 4 with first pitch scheduled for 6 P.M.
