UAB and Auburn Meet at Regions Field on Tuesday Night

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Blazers (9-18) and the Auburn Tigers (18-9-1) will meet for the second time this season on Tuesday, April 4 at Regions Field. First pitch is set for 6 P.M. and will air on CUSA.tv.

Both teams enter the mid-week matchup after dropping their weekend series – UAB fell to Charlotte (1-2) and Auburn fell to No. 2 Florida (1-2). The Blazers took game two against the 49ers after Blayze Berry threw a complete game and UAB's offense rallied in the seventh to take a 2-1 lead. The Tigers started the weekend off strong with defeating No. 2 Florida in Gainesville by a score of 10-1 on Friday, March 31.
UAB BLAZERS
Logan Braunschweig, who currently is riding a nine-game hit streak, leads the team in batting average (.377), slugging percentage (.464), on-base percentage (.482) and stolen bases (8) while sitting second in hits (26) and second in runs (14). Christian Hall leads the team in his (27) and sits behind Braunschweig in batting average (.284). Hall and Brayton Brown are tied for most home runs of the year (3). Tyler Waugh currently sits third in batting average (.278) and fourth in on-base percentage (.395).
Braxton Shelton (1-1) will get the start on the mound for UAB. Shelton picked up his first win after making his debut in the Blazers' mid-week game against Jacksonville State on Tuesday, March 28.
AUBURN TIGERS
Leading the Tigers offensively are Ike Irish and Bryson Ware. Irish posts a batting average of .409 and sits with the most hits (47) and doubles (16) and falls shortly behind Ware in runs (24) and RBIs (30). Ware currently leads the team in runs (30), home runs (14), RBIs (38) and posts the highest slugging percentage (.887). On the mound for Auburn, Konner Copeland (1-1) will get his fourth start of the year entering the game with a 9.82 ERA.
SERIES HISTORY
UAB and Auburn are no strangers. The two programs have met on the diamond since 1994 with Auburn leading the series 33-5. The last three home-and-home games went to the Tigers including the 4-1 win over the Blazers in Auburn on March 7.

Tickets are still available to purchase either online or in-person at the ticket booth two hours prior to the game (4 P.M.) and all seating is general admission.
Gates will open one hour prior to first pitch and fans are encouraged to enter through the home plate gate off of 14th Street.
