Women’s Basketball Hosts Tulsa for Senior Day

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's basketball hosts Tulsa on Saturday, February 22 for senior day. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT and will air live on ESPN+.
Before the game, the Green and Gold will take time to honor their four seniors which includes Tracey Bershers, Sara Bershers, Rayne Tucker and Maddie Walsh.
The Blazers enter Saturday's contest 15-11 overall and 6-8 in conference play, while the Golden Hurricanes are 13-13 on the season and 7-7 in league play. The game marks the 14th time the two teams have faced each other. UAB leads the all-time series 11-2.
Tulsa is coming off a 73-54 win against Tulane on Wednesday, while UAB fell 80-71 at Memphis on Wednesday.
Jade Weathersby led the Blazers with 21 points and eight rebounds against the Tigers. Walsh registered 12 points, while S. Bershers tallied 11 points. Eleecia Carter recorded 10 points on the night. T. Bershers hit a scorning milestone and earned 500 career points when she made a three in the third quarter.
Carter got the scoring started in the first and was able to make a three with only five seconds taken off the clock. UAB was able to remain in front for the whole quarter and closed out the frame on a 7-0 run to make the score 23-15.
The Green and Gold built their lead to as many as 13 with 8:01 on the clock in the second. The Tigers started to close in as the score was 34-25 at the 6:02 mark. Memphis then went on a 15-0 run to close out the quarter in the lead at 40-34 and led the remainder of the game to earn the win.
Walsh leads the Blazers with 12.3 points per game while Weathersby is following behind with 11.0 points. S. Bershers is averaging 9.3 points while T. Bershers is recording 6.1 points per game. Molly Moffitt is registering 5.8 points and Carter is averaging 4.9 points per game. Weathersby is leading in the rebound category with 9.0 per game.
Offensively, Tulsa is led by Delanie Crawford (17.1 ppg) and Elise Hill (10.9 ppg).
