CHARLOTTE - UAB Baseball (23-25, 7-14) travels to Charlotte to take on the 49ers (28-20, 12-9) for the Blazers' final road conference series of the season amid a 7-game road stretch.

THE LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers were swept by Memphis last weekend on the Tigers home turf. All three games were decided by two runs or less.
Last season, UAB won two out of three games against Charlotte in Birmingham. Colin Daniel started the rubber match on Sunday and led the Blazers to a 5-1 victory by tossing seven innings of one run baseball, striking out four and allowing just one walk.

Charlotte comes into the weekend tied for 2nd place in the American Conference standings with Florida Atlantic and South Florida. The 49ers are 19-9 in Charlotte this season and have won three straight series at Hayes Stadium. Junior right-hander Blake Gillespie has solidified himself as one of the top arms in the AAC as the Clermont, Georgia native ranks 1st in strikeouts (105) and 2nd in ERA (2.66). The 49ers also lead Division 1 baseball in fielding percentage coming in at a .984 clip.

- Logan Braunschweig reached 200 career hits on May 3 against Memphis. Braunschweig has stolen 24 bases this season which leads the American Conference. With one more stolen base, Braunschweig will sit alone in 10th place all-time at UAB for stolen bases in a single season.
