- UAB extended its road win streak to eight (seven in conference) beating Temple in Philadelphia 76-71.
- Memphis is on a three-game losing streak after dropping a game at South Florida 87-66.

- UAB ranks first in the conference in four different categories: assists/turnover ratio, fastbreak points per game, turnovers per game, and defensive rebounds per game.
- UAB is 18th in the country in fast break points per game with 15.59.
- UAB is 16th in the country in rebounds per game grabbing 40.93. They are also 22nd in both offensive rebounds per game (13.37) and defensive rebounds per game (27.56). They rank 4th and 1st, respectively, in the conference in those categories.
- UAB does not turn the ball over a lot, just 8.9 times per game which is ranked 5th nationally and 1st in the American Conference.
- Evan Chatman is 28th in defensive rebounds with 6.33 per game which is also first in the American Conference. Chatman ranks 30th in total rebounds (240).
- Memphis has relied heavily on bench points scoring 33.15 a game which ranks 15th in the nation. The Tigers also put the opponent on the free throw line quite often, collecting 20.2 fouls per game. That ranks 346th in the nation.
- Dug McDaniel is 21st in the nation in steals (58) and steals per game (2.23). That ranks first in the conference in both categories.
- Andy Kennedy has a 4-8 record against Memphis (1-6 at UAB and 3-2 at Ole Miss).
- UAB has not won in Fedex Forum since it opened in 2004 (0-14).
- Coach Kennedy has won 12+ conference games the past two seasons at UAB. He has an overall American Conference record of 33-17 in his third season in the conference.
- Evan Chatman has had 7+ rebounds in seven of the last eight games. His highest rebounds total was 15 two times this season. Chatman is also on a four-game streak of scoring 10+ points.
- Chance Westry has scored 22+ in two out of the last four games. He has scored 20+ eight times this season.
