Blazers Take Home Five First Place Finishes at UAB Spring Invite

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Track & Field saw four of its athletes as well as the 4x100 team take home the crown in their respective events this weekend at the UAB Spring Invite.
Among those winners was Corinne Ball who won the Triple Jump. Ball jumped to a mark of 11.76m, winning the event by .23 meters.
The Blazers' 4x100m team consisting of Victory George, Gabby Washington, Kat Duren, Leticia Quingostas won the event on Saturday. The Green and Gold just beat out UAH by .10 seconds to win the event.
Jordyn Dortch was the winner of the 100m race on Saturday. Dortch squeaked out the win by .02 seconds and finished with a time of 11.67m.
Kelly Hughes took home the win in the 800m race. Hughes recorded her personal best time of 2:14.65 and beat her previous best by .70 seconds.
UAB also saw top-3 finishes from Hannah-Sophie Pippel (3rd, Javelin), Victory George (3rd, Long Jump), Hope Foster (3rd, High Jump), Leticia Quingostas (3rd, 400m Hurdles), Jordyn Dortch (3rd, 200m), and 4x400m.
The Blazers are back in action next weekend at the Florida Relays and the Doc Anderson Invite (Troy). Meet schedules and information will be posted at a later date.
