SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS
Pat Hallmark's Roadrunners come into the weekend with the best overall and conference records in the American Conference. UTSA leads the league in 10 different offensive categories and are the lone team above a collective .300 batting average. The pitching staff has surrendered the second fewest walks in The American (190). However, the Roadrunners also have the second most errors and the second lowest fielding percentage in the league. Last season's Co-Newcomer Player of the Year, Drew Detlefson, is making a strong push for all-conference honors again this season as he leads the conference in hits (84), RBI (63), and runs scored (62). Detlefson is second in batting average (.373), home runs (13), and slugging percentage (.649). On the mound, the Roadrunners have three of the conference's top five qualifiers in Sam Simmons, Conor Myles, and Conner Kelley. Myles leads The American with nine wins on the season.
