SERIES HISTORY
The Blazers lead the all-time series 27-13 and lead 11-6 in games played in New Orleans. UAB won the first matchup between the two teams earlier this season at Bartow Arena, defeating Tulane by a score of 81-69.
LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers defeated Florida Atlantic on senior night by a score of 89-80. Ja'Borri McGhee had a career high 27 points while shooting 10-for-16 from the field. Alejandro Vasquez added 18 points of his own while Yaxel Lendeborg posted his 20th double-double of the year and reached 1,000 career points.
MAKING HISTORY
The Blazers have won 121 games over the last five seasons, setting the program record for the most wins over any five-year stretch. The previous record of 120 was set from 2019-24. UAB has also surpassed the most wins over a five-year stretch with one head coach, previously set from 1981-86 when the Blazers won 117 games under Gene Bartow. UAB has also won 20+ games in five straight seasons for the first time in program history.
1,000 POINT SCORERS
Tyren Moore reached the 1,000 point mark on Tuesday, January 21 against UTSA and Alejandro Vasquez reached the mark on Sunday, March 2 against Memphis. Moore began his career at Georgia Southern where he scored 862 points over two seasons while Vasquez began his career at St. Bonaventure. Yaxel Lendeborg reached 1,000 points in the Blazers win over Florida Atlantic on March 6, becoming just the fifth Blazer to reach the mark in only two seasons, joining Andy Kennedy, Robert Shannon, Robert Vaden and Jordan "Jelly" Walker as the only other players to do so.
FAST PACED, HIGH POWERED OFFENSE
Tempo has often been a theme of Andy Kennedy's teams, and the 2024-25 roster has continued that. The Blazers rank 79th in the country in tempo while scoring 83.5 points per game, which is 12th nationally and leads the American Conference. UAB is also seventh in the nation in fast break points per game with 16.2 per contest. The Blazers have scored 90+ points in nine games this season, their most since the 1990-91 season.
